And that's a wrap, isn't it.... another year over, another one beginning.
As we put this year to rest and begin a new year again, there is new hope and ideas floating around inside many of us. Things maybe many have put aside or to rest will have a new chance to emerge this coming year. Yet sometimes we start out with the best of intentions because it's a 'new year' but as the year fades out, so do those dreams, desires, and intentions.
New year or not, really, the only thing that will ever get any of us to where we need to be is committing to our intentions with constant consistency.
And that's it. Â
It doesn't matter if you only have 10 min a day to put towards a new skill you want to learn. That's still 3,560 minutes into your new skill by the end of the year. Have time to commit a half hour? Now you're looking at 10,680 minutes into your new skill or creation. How about an hour a day? I think you get my point...
It's not trying to find hours and hours at a time to learn a new skill or work on your creative projects, it's just committing some time, any time, minutes if that's all you have. Every. Single. Day. Or a commitment to yourself for a few times a week if that's truly all you've got. It's not 'when I have time', it has to be 'I will make the time'. Take those 10 min, make it count with no distractions.
I've got 2 little boys who I homeschool, so they are with me 24/7. They pretty much require all of my attention day in and day out. There are a few hours everyday they will play and do things on their own, but I also have things that have to get done as well. Like daily cleaning, laundry, and running my other businesses.
So my two websites I have? I created these from the ground up not knowing a thing about building websites. My secret? Daily consistency. Getting up before the crack of dawn, consistently. Putting in time every day and here at the end of a years work I had created an entire site that I can now use to share my Photography. You can check it out here! (you'll be directed to my other website) I also created this site I can now use to share my stories. Not just share my stories but to help and inspire others along the way on their journey as well.
I did it all with not much time per day, but consistency over the year it took me to finish them.
So, with this year coming to a close and a new one beginning...what does that mean for you?
What is your goal, dream, desire, or skill you wish you could learn or accomplish?
Give it 10 min a day and see what happens by the end of the year.
Best wishes for this new year! Consistently go and chase those dreams... 🙂
