What makes up your life?
Have you ever thought about that? No matter what it is, it will be different from your mom or sister or dad or your child. It will be different from your husband or wife or your absolute closest friend. We all surround ourselves with different things throughout our days, throughout our lives. The things you surround yourself with are inevitability the things that shape your days, your mind, your life.
It's all in the homes we live in, the colors of paint on our walls, the music we listen to, the shows we watch, the foods we eat, the people we hold close, or the people we interact with who we barely even know at all. It's in the places we go, either daily or places we travel to...all parts of the world, to the beauty of nature surrounding us, to the 'things' we own. It's these things, people and places we surround ourselves with that make up our lives. The amazing thing is, each and every one of us has the power to control that. No matter your situation, there is always room to add beautiful things to your life. There's time to put yourself in beautiful settings and there is an importance of letting go of the things, people or places that bring discontentment to your life.
It's up to you what and who you invite into your life. Of course there are many factors we can't control. We all know that just driving down the road. Dealing with angry drivers or passing through run down areas. It's all in the power of our minds and how we see it. It's in the art of letting go to the person who cut you off or made a rude comment or 'looked at you wrong'. It's in the art of seeing things in a different way, even if you're surrounded in an area where things appear to be run down. There is still beauty in the shapes and colors and the way the light hits what surrounds you. Find the good in people, find the good in things and good will find you in return.
You're in control of your life. You have the power to let it be anything you want it to be. Every single item you invite in will either find a positive place in your life or create clutter. The people you invite in your life, make sure they line up with your values where they add fulfillment and joy to your journey. The natural world is there, more pure and beautiful then any 'thing'. It's yours for the taking. Take it in. Immerse yourself in the beauty that naturally surrounds you just walking to your car or walking through a park. Pay attention to it. It's details. It's part of your life, a part too beautiful and precious to miss.
So take a moment, stop and take a look around you.
Are you surrounded with things that put a smile on your face or are you surrounded with piles of clutter and to-do lists? Are you surrounding yourself with the beauty of nature or have you somehow lost your curious wonder of it since you were a child? Think to yourself of a world you would want to create to live in. A world that you have the power to control. That world is how you would like to see your life. Yes, it may be easier said then done but you do have the power to control what you can. From there doors open, opportunities arise, and your mindset changes. It may be a slow process but a slow change in a positive direction is far better then no change at all. Find your calm, your colors, your peace, your most meaningful things. Find the ones who you truly hold the closest to you. Find nature. Embrace this beauty and find your happiness.
