November is just about here and I'm sitting here wondering what happened to August. If you happened to read my post back in August, where a million things seemed to come down upon me, it hasn't stopped since then. No wonder I feel lost to what month it is.
Since my last post, it's been one thing after another still. My Jeep needing new tires, to an unexpected couple grand in work like new tire rods, brakes and an oil leak fix, later that same week. (thank goodness we have a friend who works on cars). We've had struggles with the rental house and trying to get it ready by November 1st, past tenants suddenly claiming they fell and got hurt on the ice back in February, (good thing they are responsible for the ice and another thank goodness...I have outstanding insurance just in case) A random leak sprung at home in a pipe that left our bathroom wall torn apart as water made it's way down to the basement ceiling. And now we recently just lost another one of our beautiful chickens and also a baby chick that just hatched a couple days ago. Like seriously, not sure who's out to get me but someone is after me. Ha Ha Ha.
Have you been there before? Where thing after thing after thing just keeps hitting you?
It can feel like a lot. It can feel like it never ends. Luckily, it does, because there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. And honestly, if you are here, reading this blog, more then likely you are living a life free from war or poverty.
My point is, when life seems to crash down on us, as hard as it may be, it's important to put things into perspective. In most cases, aside from a terminal illness or loosing someone dear to us, our setbacks or problems are more like inconveniences in the big scheme of things. It's really hard to see when we are in the thick of it but as time goes on and that light comes back around again, it's clear to see we could have it much worse.
Not to mention much good can come out of these random set backs that show up uninvited, any time, anywhere in our life. This time around, for me it did. My old Jeep feels almost brand new! Our rental house has turned out so beautiful and we have the perfect tenant for it. As for the the leak in our bathroom and basement ceiling...OK, no good came out of that because that was all done, but you know, can't have it all. Of course, there are no words for loosing our sweet chickens. No good has come of that.
What set backs have you had in your life lately that have turned out with a good outcome? Or not... Remember, either way, hang in there. Keep pushing forward. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, even if the tunnel is miles and miles long.
