I’m going to take a wild guess that the majority who have the opportunity to read this right now, or access to any blog for that matter, probably have clean clothes, food on the table, access to clean water, opportunity for limitless education and a roof over head. For the least.
I’m also going to guess the majority reading this have some kind of financial flow. It might not always be great, but at least it’s there, enough to meet your and your families main necessities.
As we all know, people in many parts of the world don’t only not have the luxuries we have, but they don’t even have clean water. Some of those people living in poverty have worked harder in a year then some of us have in a lifetime. Living in constant fear of where their next meal will come from, or where they can get access to water…any kind of water that won’t kill them…or their children. As for education? Education isn’t even an option for many of these people due to not only lack of money, but lack of schools in their area.
I feel empowered to help…to make a change…however small…to do my part that makes some kind of an impact. Yet to make a significant impact, I know I can’t do it alone. So this is where I will open up and ask for your help.
Would you be willing to give just a little to get a lot in return?
Personally I do not have thousands of dollars to donate, much less millions that some very generous people have donated in the past to different causes. Yet I do have my art. So from this link, if you purchase one of my bookmarks or photography prints, 20% of my sales will go to my campaign ‘Aperture for Hope’.
‘Aperture for Hope’ is my campaign at pencilsofpromise.org to help build schools for children who have nowhere to get an education.
Not only do I believe pencils of promise to be a wonderful and purposeful cause, I believe in 100% of your donation actually going to the project. There are many charities out there, yet not all of them are legitimate or actually use such a large portion towards the actual cause. This is why I chose to help raise money and run a campaign through pencils of promise, because not only do I truly believe in the cause but also I believe in the way they rightfully use their donations.
For direct links… You can donate money directly on my campaign page through this link For my photography prints you can shop here or for bookmarks you can shop here.
Here is a direct link to the home page of the Pencils of Promise site if you’d like to find out more!
I strongly believe in order to have a true, positive impact in our world, we need to educate children, by not only teaching them to read and write, but by teaching them, at a very young age, about their own health and the health of our planet. The best way to fix any problem is to prevent it from happening in the first place. What better way then educating children about the negative and positive effects of the choices we make as individuals?
I was inspired by Adam Braun’s story and the effort he put out to help communities bring education to children. Creating an organization to educate children so they can learn to read and write and learn about proper hygiene, I believe to be one of the greatest missions in the world. For a good education in children is the best way to make a positive difference in the future of our world.
