Your Word...

Happy New Year!!!

It was my goal to get this blog up at the very end of December, but just like anything, there are setbacks and hang ups, but I pushed through and I'm here now. I can't even tell you how happy I am to be back here.

So, to start the year off...here is my traditional post I usually post at the end of the year, only this time it's at the beginning.

Your word.

Just in case you're new here, for the last few years I have been writing about the importance of picking a word (many times the word will pick you by just popping into your mind out of nowhere) to gently remind yourself of your mission or goal, or plan throughout the year.

It can be a word like 'helpful', 'connection', 'endure', 'hope'.

A word that will just gently sit in the back of your mind throughout the year, (or loudly scream out) to help encourage you to keep moving forward on your goal. Your goal can be as big as you want, perhaps to start a business, or it can be as simple as you'd like, like to read more books or slow down or take more walks. Either way, think of a word that you think might help you along, almost like a little sidekick, and remind yourself of that word often. Keep it in your mind, post it by your workspace, remind yourself of it daily.

I've done it year after year, and it really seems to help. It's not only helpful but it's kind of fun too.

This year the word that has come to me is 'persist'.

I have many plans for my art, and I have had many setbacks along the way, but I refuse to give up. This year will be a year of learning a lot of new things to help get my art into the places it needs go and into people's hands who want to have it. I know there will be many setbacks along the way, but I will push through. I will persist.

Find your word and see if it can help get you closer to where you want to be.
